Who We Are

Advancing Autism Family Support Organization Limited is a parent-driven not profit organization set up in 2023, by parents of autistic children who struggled to get acceptance and recognition from members of their community in Uganda. AAFSO aims to end stigma and discrimination attached to Autism.

Our Objectives

To empower children/persons living with autism(ASD) to realize their full potential and live with dignity, respect and sense. of self-worth
To influence policy makers and advocate for social justice, equal human rights, empowerment, social development and full participation and inclusion of persons living with autism and their families.
To network locally with other partners, NGO’s and international autism associations so as to achieve better understanding of autism
To sensitize the public especially parents, teachers and the communityat large about ASD so as to stop the stigmasurroundingpeople living with autism.
To lobbyfor financial, material, personnel, moral and other support from governmant, fromother national and international institutions for persons on the ASD

Our Approach

We Facilitate Safe Learning Spaces

We deliver rapid and sustained outcomes in our Early Years’ service by working with parents and children together. Empowering parents to feel resilient and confident in meeting the needs of their child leads to aspirational, informed choices creating a positive and successful step into primary education.

Children with an EHCP are up to six times more likely to be excluded for a fixed period or permanently than pupils with no special educational needs. The majority of these pupils will have autism alongside other communication and learning difficulties

We’re activating networks and building local capacity with our solution focused Outreach team; and our unique Advancing Autism Family Support Organization® is working at the point of crisis to change the national picture and reduce school placement breakdown

Our mission is to educate the public about the condition, give and advocate for support and protection of people within the spectrum and help in enhancing autistic people and their families to live a happy and fulfilling lives
